35mm analogue film photography
Real grain. Honest colour. One frame at a time.
Film photography is a beautiful addition to any wedding day. My main camera can take up to 20 photos every second, which is brilliant for never missing a moment. My film camera takes one at a time which means that I watch a little longer, wait for the right moment and only press the shutter when it really counts. There’s no editing, no tweaking and no perfecting afterwards - just the moment as it happened. Every frame is then developed by a specialist lab and hand-picked by me with a final look that is naturally softer, warmer and a little grainier than digital (and occasionally beautifully imperfect!). I find that it’s the perfect companion to my candid approach and produces photos that remind you of how your day felt, and not only of how it looked. Both options below can be added to any of my packages.
The Daytime Analogue Edit · £250
Around 40 hand-picked film photos from the daylight hours of your wedding. I’ll take most of my film photos during the natural pauses of the day - while you’re getting ready, during the drinks reception, and on our relaxed walk for couple portraits. Your main coverage carries on as normal, so you won’t notice a thing (other than a little click and wind now and then). It’s a lovely addition to the digital photos, and I think it’s the perfect starting point if you want a few beautiful film photos of your wedding day.
The Full-Day Analogue Story · £450
Around 100 hand-picked film photos, from the first moments of the morning right through to the dancefloor. Once the sun goes down, I switch on the flash, and the film camera comes into its own. Think bright, joyful and slightly chaotic photos of your friends and family letting loose (and yes, the occasional blurry dance move!). If you’re planning a big party and want to remember exactly how it felt, this is the one for you.
GOOD TO KNOW
• My main digital coverage always comes first. I only shoot with the film camera when I know I won’t miss anything important, so you’ll never have to choose between the two.
• Film is wonderfully imperfect. Expect some grain, softness and the odd happy accident; it’s all part of the appeal.
• Photo numbers are a guide. The exact amount depends on the light and how your day unfolds.
• Your film photos arrive alongside the digital photos in their own section within the final gallery.
