The Wedding Highlights of 2025 (and some reflections)
Whenever I sit down to write my end-of-year wrap-up, it’s tempting to feel like I have an obligation to make these grand statements - what the new trends are, how the wedding industry has evolved, or where I’m heading next. But the longer I’ve been doing this, the more I find myself reconnecting with what makes every wedding special: the love, joy, anticipation and excitement that are ever-present.
All these feelings are universal, yet every wedding I do imprints itself on me in a completely unique way. I approach each day with a blank slate, ready to capture whatever unfolds as opposed to ticking shots off a list or chasing the latest trends (flash is cool, but do we really need another blurry black and white photo of a cake?).
My aim is simple: to take photos that tell the truth of your wedding day and make you think ‘wow, these are so special’. Ultimately, I want to take photos that encapsulate however those universal feelings appear in you, - loud, quiet or somewhere in between. The last thing I ever want to do is squeeze you into a mold and make your wedding day a performance for the camera.
At a time where so much of the wedding content we see online is chasing perfection, and AI can fine-tune a smile down to the pixel, I hope that my work reminds you that it’s the real and genuine moments at your wedding which often end up meaning the most. Yes, the details are so important and they make your day truly yours, but candid wedding photography that cuts through the trends and the noise is alive and well, full of real joy.
The most beautiful thing about a wedding day is you - introverted, extroverted, or somewhere in between. Nothing makes me happier than couples showing up exactly as they are:
A quick pause to reconnect after the ceremony before joining your guests for a drink.
A squeeze of the hand as you make it down the confetti tunnel.
A gentle embrace as the sun hits your face during couple portraits.
These moments are everything.
