The Wedding Highlights of 2023
Each year, once I’ve finished editing all my weddings, I spend some time going through every single image I delivered. I let myself feel what I felt on those wedding days - sometimes I remember the nerves I experienced that morning, other times the endless joy and affection that was on display. Sometimes it’s what I take away from a wedding, whether that’s a new favourite song or an overwhelming reminder that, regardless of what’s happening around us, there is still so much love in the world. All weddings are special, and have in one way or another, left their mark on me.
This year was no different.
Back in January last year I was slightly panicking at the fact that I only had six weddings booked for the year ahead. Little did I know that it would turn out to be the busiest year of my career since I started photographing weddings in 2014 .Throughout the 38 weddings I photographed in 2023, whether with eight guests or 250, my approach has stayed the same - candid, unobtrusive and discreet (but always with a smile on my face).
I have many beautiful moments to share from 2023, and it was difficult to narrow them down. To me, these are the ones which best capture what weddings are truly about and what can happen when I simply document without interfering.
Thank you to all the couples that continously trust me to capture their weddings, and that make me feel so welcome and appreciated. Thank you also to all the fantastic vendors and venues who I was able to work with. I’m very grateful to be able to do this for a living, and it’s not something that I take for granted.
